Our L.A. Times |
by C. Carson Parks |
Okay, so John Phillips Sousa wrote the "Washington Post March", and it was, and still is, a very popular thing, even today. I had lived perhaps 17 years in southern California, never really subscribed to a newspaper, but the "L.A. Times" was pretty much the top dog, and though I mostly just checked the Sunday crossword puzzle, it was challenging enough to hold my interest. Here, I was just balancing my fate of my life spent in Los Angeles, both in "The Valley" and in the "South Shore". I guess I was having trouble leaving what I was accustomed to, and going to a land unknown.
